To whack, to hit, to smack; to down/chug (a drink), to drop/slam down; to explode/blast; to do something suddenly. Derived directly from the core, highly productive mat root еб- / ёб- (to fuck), combined with the single-action perfective suffix -нуть. It is one of the most frequently used, high-energy perfective verbs in the entire Russian lexicon of profanity, possessing an incredibly wide array of contextual meanings: first, to physically strike, punch, or hit someone or something hard (он его ёбнул по голове — “he whacked him over the head”); second, to down an alcoholic beverage quickly (давай ёбнем по рюмке — “let’s down a shot”); third, to accidentally drop, slam, or break an object (я ёбнул телефон на асфальт — “I slammed my phone onto the asphalt”); fourth, to detonate, explode, or make a loud, sudden crash (e.g., lightning, bombs, or fireworks).
