Poetic way of saying that the parents are at home. The term шнурки (shoe laces) means parents by way of pun and association (Ukrainian for father is батька, which with an added suffix gives батинок, homophone of ботинок — shoe).
Церковь напоминает о Божией заповеди «Чти отца и мать», но вот, я иду по улице как-то, слышу разговор подростков: «У тебя шнурки в стакане?» — «Да» — «Тогда пошли ко мне».
The church reminds us of God’s commandment, “Honor your father and mother,” but the other day, I was walking down the street and heard teenagers talking: “Are your folks at home?” — “Yes.” — “Then let’s go to my place.”
