Internet, colloquial mispronunciation with an ironic-condescending nuance. Derived from a deliberate, phonetic misspelling of the noun интернет (Internet), mimicking a rustic, uneducated, or old-fashioned pronunciation (as if someone were emphasizing every letter phonetically, adding an o sound). It originated in the early 2000s Russian internet culture as part of the famous Padonki slang (язык падонков), where words were intentionally misspelled for comedic effect.
За что нас критикуют? Нас критикуют за то, что мы якобы далеки от народа, сидим в энторнетах, и вся наша разъяснительная антижуликовская работа — это варение в собственном соку.
Why are we being criticised? We are being criticised because we are supposedly not in touch with the people, and all our information work against crooks is just stewing in our own juice.
