Slut, whore, tramp. A widespread, highly derogatory slang noun used to brand a woman as loose, promiscuous, or sexually unprincipled. Its etymological roots trace back to dialectal terms meaning a restless wanderer or a loafer, but in contemporary vulgar speech, it serves almost exclusively as a harsh insult targeting a woman’s perceived promiscuity. While incredibly offensive, it carries a slightly less aggressive, more colloquial weight than the supreme obscene term блядь.

Cheap whore, skank, camp follower; trashy woman, low-rent slut. Historically derived from шалаш (hut/shack), referring to women who serviced soldiers or laborers in temporary field huts, later cemented in Soviet Gulag slang for women trading sex for survival. In modern street slang, it is a highly derogatory insult used to humiliate a woman by implying extreme vulgarity, promiscuity, and a low social status (да закрыли этот притон вместе со всеми шалашовками — “they shut down that den along with all the cheap skanks”).
