A useless piece of junk, a weird contraption, a placeholder noun for an object; a piece of shit, garbage. A highly common mat noun used as a derogatory, expressive placeholder for any object—especially one that is poorly made, overly complicated, broken, or whose actual name the speaker cannot remember (выброси эту хуёбень — “throw this piece of junk away”; что это за хуёбень? — “what the hell is this contraption?”).
