Why, what for, why the fuck, what the hell. Derived from хуй (dick/cock), transformed into an interrogative and adverbial form via the suffix -ли. Extremely common, highly profane particle and question word used in three main ways: 1. aggressive or blunt synonym for “why” or “what for” (Хули ты орёшь? — “Why the fuck are you yelling?”); 2. to express rhetorical compliance or stating the obvious, similar to “why not” or “of course” (Он позвал, хули не пойти? — “He invited me, so why the fuck shouldn’t I go?”); 3. an intensifier meaning “so what” or “what’s the big deal” (Ну опоздал, и хули? — “So I’m late, big fucking deal?”).
Отвечает, мля, у меня свои часы, хули хошь за косарь то?
