улёт

улёт m [uljot]

Blast, rush, sensation; out of this world, mind-blowing, brilliant. Derived from the noun root лет- (connected to лететь — to fly) with the prefix у-, literally denoting a departure or flying away. In everyday youth and street slang, it is used as a highly expressive noun or exclamation to describe something absolutely fantastic, mind-blowing, or incredibly exciting that metaphorically makes one “fly away” with delight (эта вечеринка — просто улёт! — “this party is an absolute blast!”; фильм — полный улёт — “the movie is totally brilliant”). It can also refer to a state of intense euphoria or a drug-induced rush.

Как вам такая музычка? Просто улёт, не так ли?

How do you like this music? Bloody awesome, isn’t it?
