Chick, bird, babe, heifer. Derived from the literal noun тёлка (a young cow or heifer), which transitioned in youth and street slang into a widespread, informal term for a young woman. In everyday speech, it functions similarly to the English word “chick” (твоя тёлка звонила — “your chick called”). While it can occasionally be used affectionately or neutrally among peers, it is inherently objectifying and patronising, often carrying a disrespectful or dismissive tone depending on the context.
Чем длиннее у телки ноги, тем меньше мозгов у нее в голове.
The longer a girl’s legs, the fewer her brains.
