To nick, to pinch, to steal something. Used to describe swiping or pocketing an item when no one is looking, usually implying a quick, opportunistic theft rather than a violent robbery (кто-то стащил мой зонтик из прихожей — “someone nicked my umbrella from the hallway”).
А началось все еще в отрочестве, было тогда лет 12, когда кто-то притащил из друзей в школу сигариллы (видимо где-то стащил).
It all started already during adolescence, I was around 12 then, when some friend brought cigarillos to school (must have nicked them somewhere).
