Derived from the primary mat root пезд- (derived from пизда), combined with the circumfix о-…-ол (a highly productive morphological pattern in Russian slang used to create derogatory nouns denoting people). In everyday vulgar speech, it is used to describe a foolish, clumsy, or utterly lazy individual who constantly makes stupid mistakes, loiters around, or fails to accomplish simple tasks (ну что ты за опёздол такой, опять всё перепутал — “what a blockhead you are, you mixed everything up again”).
Кто не успел — тот опездол.
He who does not finish in time is a dickhead.
