Junkie, druggie, smackhead. Derived as a truncated, colloquial contraction of the noun наркоман (drug addict) with the highly productive, informal Slavic suffix -ик. In everyday slang, it is a ubiquitous, casual, and derogatory term used to describe a drug user, someone suffering from substance abuse, or someone who looks noticeably wasted, emancipated, or sketchy (местные нарики постоянно трутся у подъезда — “the local junkies are always hanging around the building entrance”).
Не забывай — всегда найдётся парочка нариков, которые за дозу отрежут твоей жене голову и оттрахают твою 22-х летнюю дочурку в переулке, когда она будет возвращаться с очередной прогулки…
Don’t forget, there will always been some junkies that for a dose will cut off your wife’s head and rape your 22-year-old daughter in a dark alley when she returns from one of her walks…
