Set of wheels, a sweet ride, car. A very common, casual term for a car. Depending on the tone and context, it can enthusiastically praise a great, luxury car or ironically mock an old, beat-up vehicle (зацени, какую лайбу я купил — “check out the sweet ride I just bought”). Historically, it comes from Baltic or Finnic languages (e.g., Finnish laiva), originally denoting a large, flat-bottomed sailboat or cargo barge.
Друг попросил найти сдесь ему хорошую, навороченную лайбу, или хотя бы какие-нибудь запчасти на неё!
A friend asked me to find him a nice, pimped ride, or at least some spare parts for it!
