Ethnic slur for Asians from Siberia or Central Asian Republics. Used in particular in Kazakhstan to describe rural populations with low education status.

Since Kazakhs were clearly a minority in Alma-Ata at the time, they found no understanding among the spectators. So the “Kolbity” started breaking off pieces of the marble cladding and throwing them at the onlookers.
