Asshole, bastard, jerk; snitch. Derived from the literal word for a male goat (козёл). Common, classic insult used to describe an unprincipled, mean, or untrustworthy man, or someone who has acted selfishly and ruined things for others (ну ты и козёл — “you’re such an arsehole”). In prison or criminal underworld jargon, it carries a much darker, highly dangerous meaning, denoting an inmate who openly cooperates with the prison administration (a turncoat or snitch).

If I drive my car all the pedestrians are morons. If I go for a walk all the drivers are morons. If I ride my bike everyone around is an idiot!
