A person supporting the Russian army in the war against Ukraine. This term has a negative connotation, with the positive equivalent being “Z-patriot” (Z-патриот) or “turbo-patriot” (турбопатриот). These terms refer to the use of the letter Z as a tactical recognition symbol by some Russian troops. In a way, an update form of the ватник that appeared after February 2022.
