To get knocked up, to get preggo. Derived from the standard verb лететь (to fly) via the directional prefix за- (meaning into or behind). In everyday slang, it is most famously used as a sharp, highly informal, and irreverent euphemism for an accidental, unplanned, or unwanted pregnancy (она залетела от него после первой же тусовки — “she got knocked up by him after their very first party”).
Когда девушка залетала, он «как честный человек» готов был жениться.
When the girl got knocked up, he was, as a gentleman, ready to marry her.
