Suffocating, stifling; exhausting, killjoy, pedantic. Literally used to describe a stuffy, poorly ventilated room lacking fresh air, this adjective has exploded in modern Russian slang to describe a person who is a massive drag. A душный person (often called a душнила) is someone pedantic, overly serious, devoid of humor, or someone who sucks the fun out of any conversation by constantly correcting trivial details or complaining.
Что-то совсем тут душно стало.
Somehow it got all boring around here.
