Masturbation, wanking, jerking off; tedious work, pointless fuss, grind. Derived from the colloquial verb дрочить (to masturbate; to drill/wear down) combined with the nominal suffix -ка. In everyday street slang, it has two primary meanings: first, its literal, crude anatomical definition for the act of masturbation; second, and very frequently, a metaphorical term for a tedious, repetitive, and frustratingly detailed task or a long, exhausting grind (не учёба, а какая-то дрочка — “it’s not studying, it’s just a fucking tedious grind”).
