To have the runs, to shit, to crapping oneself. A crude, highly vulgar verb that literally means to suffer from violent diarrhoea. In everyday street slang and youth culture, its meaning often expands metaphorically to describe a state of extreme, paralyzing fear or panic (similar to “shitting oneself” from fright). While intensely foul and scatological, it sits just outside the absolute taboo tier of Russian mat.
