To get something, to understand. Frequently used in the negative to state that someone doesn’t understand a joke, a situation, or a concept (я вообще не догоняю, о чём они говорят — “I don’t get what they’re talking about at all”).
Фу, какой ты прозаичный! Ты явно не догоняешь свободное парение моей мысли!..
Well, how prosaic you are! You clearly cannot follow the free flow of my thoughts!..
