Сollective noun used to describe a specific socio-cultural subculture of aggressive, poorly educated, working-class street youths typically characterized by tracksuits, flat caps, a distinct squatting posture, and involvement in petty crime or intimidation (вся местная гопота собирается по вечерам у района — “all the local punks gather around the neighborhood in the evenings”).
