In everyday slang and professional jargon, it is used to describe an incredibly tedious, complicated, or frustrating problem that requires a lot of time and effort to solve. It is also frequently shortened to the punchy, informal noun гемор (e.g., Столько гемора из-за пустяка! — “So much hassle over nothing!”).
