Lie, fib, falsehood. Derived from the verb брехать, which originally meant “to bark” in Old East Slavic before shifting colloquially to “to talk nonsense” and ultimately “to lie”. It is a very common, informal, and slightly rude term used to call out deceit or fabrications.
На телефоне диспетчер, как всегда брехня — «Да, я Кира, жду и тарам парам…». Наводка норма, и вот уже у двери. Открывает дверь маленькая страшилка, ну ничего свалить всегда можно.
A dispatcher is on the line, lying as always — “Yes, this is Kira, I’m waiting and so on…”. Guidance is fine and I’m already standing in front of the door. A small gnome opens the door, well I can still go away at any point.
