Dead end, total mess, generic disaster, game over. Derived from the standard German loanword Absatz (paragraph, passage of text). Used to describe a sudden, overwhelming, or disastrous turn of events, a total failure, or a complete dead end (всё, это полный абзац — “that’s it, it’s a total disaster / we are completely screwed”). Socially acceptable euphemism for пиздец (similar pronunciation, especially the ending).
