чмо n [čmo]

Bloke, unimportant individual, idiot. Plural: чмара. Probably loaned from Yiddish שמאָק (shmok), just as American slang schmo. Sometimes interpreted as the initials of человек московской области (person from the Moscow region), that Moscow residents look down upon.

I’m a stupid git… on Monday I must retake the exam…

Graffiti in Moscow, podkolokolnij per. (Jan. 2008)

Mobilised soldier, forced conscript from the partial mobilisation (частичная мобилизация). Also combines чмо and мобик.

Russian-style combat cohesion is when one mobilised scum pulls out the bottle and the other mobilised scum pulls out the glasses.

чмокаться v ipf [čmokat’sja]

To kiss (derived from чмок, an kissing onomatopoeia).

I believe that kissing isn’t for me, yes, and it is truly unhygienic.

чморить v ipf [čmorit’]

To insult, offend. Sometimes altered to чмарить.

Dagestani will no longer debase Russian soldiers.

чмошный adj [čmošnyj]

Bad, unworthy, despicable. Adjective derived from чмо.

The despicable midget Dimon didn’t take his pills again and got schizoid. Dimon, you’re an empty-head, if we’d met, you’d get badly hurt ;)
